In 1994, he began his journey in the hotel industry, starting in Jalandhar, Punjab, where he earned a meager salary of 10 rupees per day. He continued working in Punjab until 1997 before venturing to Mumbai for new opportunities. Over the span of 28 years, he dedicated himself to the hotel sector, honing his culinary skills and gaining invaluable experience.In 2013, he showcased his talent on Kunal Kapoor's show, MasterChef, although he didn't emerge as the winner. The events took place in Graphic Era, Dev Bhoomi. Despite lacking any formal diploma or degree, he rose to prominence as one of the finest chefs in Uttarakhand, earning the moniker "MasterChef Negi."During his tenure at ETV Rasoi for 10 years, he not only won accolades but also served as a judge on various cooking shows. He collaborated with renowned international chefs and specialized in Pahadi sweets such as Kode ki Barfi and Alsi ki Laddu, showcasing his mastery over Garhwali cuisine. He also delved into Mangolian cuisine, broadening his culinary repertoire.MasterChef Negi's expertise extends to crafting around 600 Garhwali dishes and over 80 varieties of sweets. In a tribute to his daughter, he named his restaurant "Pari Restaurant," where he continues to delight patrons with his culinary creations. With aspirations for expansion, he aims to further establish his restaurant brand.He was chosen as the brand icon of Uttarakhand for the flagship product of Amul.Noteworthy is his distinguished clientele, including serving food to the Prime Minister of India, the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, and various government bodies. His culinary prowess has graced numerous events, reflecting his dedication, perseverance, and unwavering passion for the culinary arts.
