The Telangana government has introduced its first tourism policy as “Telangana Tourism Policy 2025-2030.” In this case, the aim is to transform the state into one of the five preferred tourist destinations within the country as well as internationally. The new policy expects ₹15,000 crore investments in the next five years and is expected to provide three lakh new jobs.
This tourism policy, created after Telangana became a state, sets a bold goal to make tourism contribute over 10% to the state economy. It focuses on promoting unique cultural and business opportunities in Telangana to attract global tourists and investors. The policy highlights both the cultural richness and economic potential of the state.
The policy is derived based on a range of tourism segments such as heritage, ecotourism, wellness and medical tourism, adventure tourism and luxury tourism. They would bring a new kick-start to the much-treasured tourist destinations of Telangana, including Charminar, Golconda Fort, Ramoji Film City and Papi Hills.
Strategic Goals
Key highlights of the Telangana Tourism Policy 2025-2030 include:
Investment Opportunities: The government targets investing ₹15,000 crore in the private and public sectors to build hospitality facilities like resorts, eco parks and luxury accommodations.
Job Creation: That is to say, the policy is expected to generate employment in 300,000 positions in the hospitality, tour operation, and cultural sectors.
Sustainable Development: This will ensure the sacred work of conserving natural and cultural assets that define the tourism industry as sustainable.
Enhanced Connectivity: Efforts will be made to enhance the air, rail and road accessibilities to provide a boost to tourism from an international as well as domestic level.

Infrastructure Development
These are to create integrated integrated tourist circuits that will link major centres of tourist interest, improve access standards at centres of visits, and increase utilization of centres offbeat. For instance, the rural tourism projects will focus on and explore the local art and craft, custom and traditions of Telangana.
Also, the state is developing various applications, for example, a mobile application to deliver the simplified information to tourists, such as information about the attractions, available accommodations, and local guides.
Public-Private Partnerships
The policy is fairly centralised around the concept of government-business relations. The proposed partnership has the objective of optimizing the delivery of project work and the development of new ideas of tourism offerings and experiences.
